Children’s Art Experience at the Birmingham Museum of Art
This project required converting two rooms in the Birmingham Museum of Art into an immersive hands-on art experience for children. We designed exhibits that created an appreciation for fine art, self-expression, and the elements of design.
James Walker’s painting “Battle of Lookout Mountain” from the battle of Chattanooga is interpreted through an interactive touch screen program. The massive 30 foot wide painting was carefully digitized using a custom rig that moved over the surface of the painting and captured images of the painting in sections. These sections were assembled into a massive digital file that allows the visitor to explore the painting from a full view down to the grain of the canvas.
We developed a centerpiece as part of the new Body Worx exhibit at the Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center. This cutting edge interactive program allows visitors to experience a surgical procedure in a sanitized form suitable for small children and squeamish adults. Part of this effort was to design and implement an interface that has a futuristic look and feel to complement the enclosure environment designed by Peter Feher Design.
The National Park Service ask us to develop an interactive program that interprets the unique story of slavery at Kingsley Plantation. The challenge was to use program design and technology to allow the user to remain immersed in the interpretive experience and never have to physically interact with the device.
The National Park Service wanted to create an interactive exhibit for visitors to the newly renovated Hamilton Grange. We created an experience that goes well beyond the traditional click-and-play approach by developing an interactive that the visitor can engage and interact with one-on-one.
Coastline Marine is a leading innovator of high end custom aluminum fabrication for sports fishermen. Located in Seabrook, Texas just up the road from the NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Coastline is a rapidly growing American based brand. RJAgency has been working with them to develop an expanded presence in the custom marine fixtures and outfitting market. InformedConsentMD is a subscription based online patient educational tool providing video explanations of over 20 of the standard OB-GYN surgical procedures. We were hired to help prepare them for their first major unveil at ACOG, the largest trade-show for OBGYN physicians.
Utilizing the anecdotes gleaned from historic documents, oral histories and contemporary interviews of former White House chefs and staffers, and historical photographs of the kitchens and dining spaces within the White House, we will create a cookbook-style experience that walks individuals through the history of African American presidential chefs/staff and through recipes.
