The RJAgency took on the challenge of creating a Valentines Day promotion to increase the “Best Biker Bars Rallies and Road Trips” Facebook social media presence. We created a Facebook campaign that invited bikers to submit pictures of their “Sweet Rides” to be featured on the BBRRT wall in a “Like” gathering. Competition. The bike with the most likes was prominently featured on the Facebook stream and on the header graphic of the BBRRT page. The promotion ran from February 1st til midnight of February 13th. The BBRRT team was amazed at the outpouring from a demographic that is not generally associated with social media.
The BBRRT page experienced an increase in overall traffic, and renewed interest from followers for the duration of the promotion. The page’s reached increased 300% by an influx of new viewers looking to support their friends bikes and to check out the competition. We even generated a slight rivalry with between one of our younger entrants and the mature biker community. We saw call’s to action from the traditional biker loyal like… “Don’t let this KID and his ROADSTER win!”
The promotion was a success as it kept viewers engaged, involved and all the while, steadily increased viewership. FYI, The “KID” came in second only to a late entry in the final hours of the promotion.
